Richardson-Walsh was born in Withington, Manchester and attended Priestnall School in Stockport.[3] At the age of 16 she joined Aquinas College in Stockport as a result of it afforded her extra assist for her hockey.[4] She graduated from Brunel University in 2003 with a 2:1 (BSc Sports Science).[5]
