Their sixth studio album, Terraform, was launched October 28, 2016. On September 12, 2016, a North-American tour was introduced to advertise their new album. Terraform was later nominated for a 2017Juno Award for Rock Album of the Year, dropping to The Tragically Hip’s Man Machine Poem.[14]

On November 20, 2013, Roberts introduced the discharge of subsequent album, Lo-Fantasy,[11] which was launched by Paper Bag Records on February 11, 2014.[12] Sam Roberts’ Band launched the Counting the Days EP on April 18, 2015. In 2015, the band collaborated with Toronto’s Spearhead Brewery to launch the “Sam Roberts Band Session Ale”.[13]

Roberts launched his fourth studio album, Collider, on May 10, 2011.[9] It is the primary album below the moniker “Sam Roberts Band” as an alternative of “Sam Roberts”.[10] The first single, “I Feel You” was formally launched to Canadian radio on February 28, with an iTunes Canada launch of March 8.

Roberts’ third album, Love on the End of the World, launched in May 2008, debuted at No. 1 on the Canadian album chart,[8] a primary for Roberts. The lead single, “Them Kids”, debuted on iTunes on March 4, 2008. Roberts once more received the Juno award for Artist of the Year and the album took house Rock Album of the Year and reached gold gross sales standing.

Roberts’ second album, Chemical City, was launched in April 2006, with the primary single “The Gate” topping as a No. 1 hit on Canadian radio. The second single, “Bridge to Nowhere”, received the Juno Award for Video of the Year in 2007 and the album achieved platinum gross sales standing.

In August 2002, Roberts signed with Universal Music.[6] In November 2002, Roberts received the CASBY Award for “Favourite New Artist”.[7] In 2003, he launched his main label debut album, We Were Born in a Flame, with the singles “Where Have All the Good People Gone?” and “Hard Road” garnering success within the Canadian market. The album achieved double platinum gross sales standing in Canada and received two Juno Awards in 2004: Album of the Year and Rock Album of the Year, with Roberts successful the Juno award for Artist of the Year.

After disbanding Northstar, Roberts recorded a twelve monitor demo, “Brother Down”,[2] which shaped the idea for the EP, The Inhuman Condition launched in 2002. Recorded with Jordon Zadorozny, Roberts “recorded a track a day”.[5] Roberts signed with artist supervisor Dave Spencer and started to carry out stay. With the help of Linda Bush at Universal Music Publishing Canada, he signed a publishing contract with UMPG and a document contract with MapleMusic Recordings. MapleMusic launched the six monitor EP culled from the demo with Roberts noting that “it’s not one thing I had meant to be my first actual foray into the music world however I could not flip my again on such an opportunity”. It included two breakthrough singles, “Brother Down” (launched in mid-2002) and “Don’t Walk Away Eileen” (launched in late 2002) which have been closely promoted within the Canadian market.

Born in Westmount, to South African immigrants who had arrived in Montreal three weeks earlier,[1] Roberts grew up on Cedar Avenue in Pointe-Claire, the place his household moved to when he was 5 years outdated. Roberts is an alumnus of St. Edmund Elementary School, Beaconsfield, Loyola High School, N.D.G. and John Abbott College, Ste. Anne de Bellevue and McGill University.[2] He holds a BA in English from McGill University, graduating in 1998.[2] Roberts’ first band was William in 1993, that become Northstar in 1998. As William they put out a single, “Piranha EP” on Northern Assembly Records in 1996, whereas as Northstar they launched a self-titled impartial EP in 1998,[3] however broke up in 1999.[4]

Sam Roberts (born October 2, 1974) is a Canadian rock singer-songwriter who has launched six albums. His debut EP The Inhuman Condition, reached the Canadian charts in 2002. He can be a member of Canadian supergroup Anyway Gang, who launched their debut self-titled album in 2019. Roberts has been nominated, collectively together with his band, for fifteen Juno Awards, successful six, together with Artist of the Year twice (2004 and 2009) and Album of the Year as soon as (2004).
